US President Trump said today that he is willing to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the next few weeks. The G7 summit in France, which was held earlier in France, talked about the Iranian nuclear program.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif appeared at the invitation of French President Mark Hung yesterday and unexpectedly appeared in the gap of the 7-nation summit.
Mark Hong said that through intensive diplomacy and consultations, Trump and Rohani have now created “conditions for talks in the coming weeks.”
After the end of the three-day 7-nation summit, Trump held a press conference with Mark Hong and said, “If the situation permits, I will certainly agree.”
The reporter asked Trump if he thought that Mark Hung’s time-honored proposal was pragmatic? Trump replied, “Yes”; and said that he believes that Rohani will also agree.
Trump said: “I think he will hope to meet. I think Iran wants to improve the situation.”
